Tax Credits afforded to individuals for Solar Panels

Did you know that you may qualify for a Tax Credit (Rebate) if you installed new or unused solar panels as part of your system to power your residence. As an individual if you own, rent, or occupy a residence powered by Solar Panels you installed between March 2023 and February 2024 you qualify for a rebate of 25% of the cost of the panels, limited to a maximum per individual of R15,000 if you have met the following requirements:

• Panels with a minimum capacity of 275W per panel have been installed to power your residence as part of a new installation or an upgrade to an existing system that is connected to the mains of the residence.

Portable panels do not qualify.
